Hi guys, I had my skidsteer on blocks today to change the chain case oil.. After I change the oil, I started the machine and moved the controls a few times...Thats when I noticed that the left side is moving alot slower than the right side..Can someone tell me the reason for that,,,Hopefully the news isn that bad...

Thanks
Steve

Yes, it tends to favor one side when running it...I checked the linkage this afternoon, and the the opposite side has more play in it then the bad side.....If it isnt the adjustment, what is my next option???

Thanks
Steve

If its not the linkage, it will probably be pump or motor wear.
Being an 04 model surly it can't have too many hours up.

The machine has 1663 hrs on it...what are the pumps and motor good for hour wise???

With propper care like changing oil, replacing fluid they should last at least 5,000 hours!
You need to keep the oil clean clean.
With so few hours up, it really shouldn't be the pump/motor.......
Not sure where to look next i'm afraid.

hey tazza, with regard to this problem my 2044 (I just got) on black top occasionally starts hopping on a turning radius........is that inexperience with the controls or is there a timing problem.......

Hopping = inexperience. Slow down a little. :)

It could also be linkage wear making it jump around.
it has under 300 hrs on it...........I wouldn't think there would be linkage wear yet would there?....I jacked it up and checked play in each wheel 1 side at a time......and it was tight and equal.....in order to check do both wheels on the side need to be off the ground? I put floor jack between right side wheels and jacked it up....front wheel came up and rear didn't quite clear....I checked front wheel play then jacked up behind rear wheel and checked play....did same thing with left side

There shouldn't be wear, but if the bolts were not tight on the steering linkages its possible.
I found when i just started using my machine, it would jump a bit till i got used to the controls.
Does it run shock buffers for the sterring lever?
