    Replacing fluid

If your chain cases double as you hydraulic tanks , just replace with hydraulic fluid. OMC made the jd-24 and the chain cases doubled as tanks and with the amount you need ,i'm sure this is the case. Scott

what do you guys think of a 4640e turbo gehl

I have two 5635 and simply love them. I did have a rental 4640 for a month and was just as happy except fot smaller size and the backup alarm which drove me crazy. Scott

    331 hydraulic boost

I have a 331 and and it's a 96 and always thought it had plenty of power to run a longer stick for more reach,or an oversize bucket. I also have an 435 and the 331 is just much easer to get into tight places. I think you are ahead by modifying the machine you have if it is in good shape. Scott

    ott tracks -- replacing bolts/bushings

On all my Grouser tracks the bolt always wears instead of the bushing and I usually wear the tracks out before the bushing have any significant wear. Stay away from super hard bolts if you buy other than the manafacture I wouldn't worry too much about the ott tracks because they can get very...

    Retaining Walls and Terraces

I think you should be able to do the job pretty easily.Once you grub out all the trees, it will open the area up a lot more. Most of the walls I do that are substantial I order the rock from a pit and it's shot rock. I looks like pretty good access except for the grade. The rocks that I get from...

    Mustang 2044 Hydraulic Problem

Ok, I went out and checked the cap and it is a radiator cap. In the middle it says “test or replace when changing coolant” I Know this is the original cap since I have had this machine since it was new.“Caution pressure”and “Do not open when hot” are dead givaways and it's suppose to test out at...

    Mustang 2044 Hydraulic Problem

Just like a weak radiator cap, it will open at a lower pressure and leak. I've never traced where the over flow goes, never had a problem. It's has pressure to precharge the pumps I think but don't really know for sure.Scott

    Mustang 2044 Hydraulic Problem

Just bleed the pressure off before opening all the way. It tells you this in the manual. the tank is weird in that the last 5 gal.of hydraulic oil will have to be poured in slow or it will burp back on you if the oil goes in too fast

    Mustang 2044 Hydraulic Problem

The filler cap on mine is like a radiator cap With an over flow hose. The system has always been under pressure. Make sure your cap is not weak. Scott
