I am the new owner of an M371 bobcat. The loader has not run for 11 years. I have the following questions: 1). The fuel pump is not pumping. Do I stay with the mechanical pump or go to an electrical pump? 2). Where is the best place to buy Kolher parts for a K321? The Kolher engine runs using a gravity feed fuel tank. 3). The carburetor is well used and in need of repair. The throttle shaft is very loose in the carburetor. In purchasing a rebuilt kit, can I drill out and add a new bushing on the throttle shaft? I am new to skid steer ownership. If you have any suggestions or good ideas, I would appreciate it. THank you!

I would just get a replacement pump, they are around $35. The best place I've found for Kohler parts is http://www.psep.biz/store/kohler_engine_parts.htm Yes the throttle shaft bushing is replacable on it. You need to figure out which kit you need by measuring the old throttle shaft. I uploaded the K321 service manual here http://www.mediafire.com/file/p72e5d7bhgdcwcm/Kohler_K91_141_161_181_241_301_321_341service.pdf
And the operators manual here http://www.mediafire.com/file/hy3331tq87qw8xg/Kohler_K241_301_321_341oper.pdf

I'd do a compression check and maybe try to run it long enough to check oil consumption.
Those were a good old engine, but they are getting dated, if it has worn out the throttle shaft it must have some time on the rest of the engine too.
Sometimes the best fix for these machines is a new engine. Not say this is necessarily your case but just something to consider.

I have a M-371 I went with a ele. pump because when it got hot out side it would vapor lock The dealer told me to go ele., once I did it never vapor locked again, How ever I did find a 25 hp Kohler and did retorfit not to bad to do. I do have a 14hp kohler siting in the garage. I do have on graiglist.
