I recently purchased a 1993 bobcat 753. What oils can I use in this diesel motor? I put in Delvac diesel oil but read in the manual (after I changed it) that I needed to use Bobcat oil. Is this true? After changing the oil it seems to put out a lot of blue smoke. Any suggestions? Thanx!

I run 15W40 diesel grade oil. No need to use bobcat oil in the engine.
As for the smoke, did you possibly over fill it? it can cause a little smoke if you put too much oil in.

For engine oil, any 15w 40 is fine. For hydraulic oil, only bobcat hydraulic fluid is recommend. They use to say 10w 30 was ok in emergencies. I know of farms where that is all they run with no problems. That said, 10w30 does not have anti wear additives and swash plate wear can happen.
