Arc Welding

I may have to weld one of the levers on the Bobtach on my T200. It has a lot of electrical gizmos which all work well now. I am worried about messing them up. If I disconnect the battery, is it safe to arc weld on the machine?

I have never had a problem, as long as one terminal is disconnected from the battery. I have welded a few machines without an issue, except for my 743 that i forgot about the battery and cooked the voltage regulator. The S150 and 753G were both fine with me removing a battery cable.
