Hello All, I'm new here I tried the search engine but I did not find anything related to my problem. The machine is a 863 with a Deutz Oil/Air Cooled Engine. My problem is: All the engine oil leaks out of machine overnight or within 8-10 hrs. I bought machine new and it has about 2,500 hrs. on it. The oil runs out from under the oil pan area and drips out all over the ground. The machine burns NO OIL and runs great. I have power washed it and have searched for the leak but cannot find it. It has been at a "Diesel Engine" shop for the last two months and they cannot find it either. Has anybody else had this problem?? Anybody have any ideas?? PLEASE HELP.........;( ;(

Almost sounds like a pin hole in the oil pan for you to lose all of the oil. I know it may sound obvious, but is the drain plug tight and is the plug gasket intact?

mine does the exact same thing, but not that much i put a drip pan undermeath of it when not in use. I have pressure washed mine completley clean and have not been able to find it. Mine leaks from in front of the engine and then runs out form under it. i cant seem to get at it without taking the engine out and i really do not want to do that.

I agree, give it a good clean then look for where the oil is coming from. That is a good size leak to drain that fast. I second the idea that there is a hole in the oil pan. A stone can get under it and rub through it.

I've heard stories of stones rubbing a hole in the oil pan on the deutz models. If its leaking out all of its oil when not running, it would pretty much have to be the oil pan.

Wow. I have the same engine in my T200. I think it's spec'd to hold about 14 quarts of oil. If it all leaks out... Why not clean it up well and add a little UV tracer to the oil? J.C. Whitney used to sell a little UV light and tracers for oil and coolant for about $15.00. I think you'd be able to find the leak in short order.

So the oil pan is plastic or the fuel tank? the only reason i ask is if i try to fill my machine up fuel pours out from somewhere right behind the engine till it drains to a little less the quarter of a tank

Fuel tank is plastic, oil pan is steel.

Fuel tank is plastic, oil pan is steel.
So now that we know that the plastic fuel tank can rub and make a hole in the steel oil pan and the reverse obviously happens then you may have just found the locations of 2 of your problems. Does one patch the plastic fuel tank or replace it?

pull pkg fix it once fix it right, if it needs a pan or a tank or both. its still a good unit. you cant deal with leaks from either end and stilll make a living. one call from a tree hugger. and youre scerewed, yea we are talkin a pin hole. if you want to it on the cheap youre still pulling pkg. patch pan and tank install double washers to lift eng off tank. to prevent further rub thrus, reset steeerining t acomadted. or as i would do replace pan and tank shim with double washers and be done, never an issue again. and have you done youre timing belt thing,? if you go for patch be prepared to do do it again. and again.

It's not as hard as it may seem. The pump and motor come out as one. If you have the manual, it will show you how to make an engine lifitng jig.

No I do not have the manual. Would you be talking about the "Service Manual" that is like $90.00 from Bobcat?? I have seen some on ebay, Do you know if they are the same??

You would want the service manual. Theres usually 3 manuals per machine, operators, parts and service.
