Thanks Mike, Sounds simple enough. I tested the fuses with a test light, but maybe I was in service mode at the time, as some fuses had no power to either side, but those that did were all good. The customer had jumped the wires for the seatbelt switch with a piece of wire and alligator clips...

Trying to fix a customer's JD 7775, around 1997 model. He has broken the seat belt switch, removed and lost the parts...yay..he then jumped out the 2 wires to the seatbelt switch and had the machine running again, but pedals wouldn't unlock, so I got the call. I have a lot of Bobcat experience...

Make sure that the engine stop lever is moving fully to the run when the cable is pushed down.

Definitely sounds like the fuel solenoid is not working.....probably just some rust / binding of the linkage due to all the sitting.

Be careful....some of the coils are only designed for 10 volts. Also the thumb switch is probably proportional control, not just on-off, which would change the resistance through the switch....sorry I don't have the specs but someone may have a service manual that shows the specs and maybe how...

And after you have the engine in the position that makes greasing the least painful, mark the crank pulley and engine with a paint marker so next time you just line up the marks.....much easier for when you are working alone.

The screw in the cap should be just to hold the cap together, not holding it to the filler neck. Most of the older machines had to have the chaincase oil pumped out to change it.

Yep, just lift it up after taking the 2 nuts off the front inside corners of the cab....if you say bolts, you may be taking off the wrong fasteners....and lift up the cab....sometimes they are 'stuck' in place from rust, but usually can be lifted by standing on the loader arm step and push up on...

Check that the bolts that hold the pivots for the seatbar are tight. If they are loose, the sensor magnet can bounce away from the sensor.

I've never heard of lines breaking like that, either. Maybe your relative ran out of fuel and broke the lines trying to bleed them???

I think that the 975 had tow valves, somewhere along the drive motor lines, that allows fluid to pass through the drive motors and the machine can be rolled. Maybe someone here has a manual for the 975, but it is a rare model. If you can't find the tow valves, you can do like Tazza suggests and...

That must be the jack for tilting the cab safely.
