Hi guys, new kid on the block, so bear with me. Anyway, I have just been given an "older" skid steer, with an engine that daylite passes thru. It is a JD 570, originally made be New Holland, as a L 454 and then JD stuck some decals on it when they entered the race. (JD has come a long way since then).. OK, getting back to my situation.....what is the easiest and of course, cheapest way for me to get this unit running ? It has low hours on it and the unit is in really good condition, that being the reason I took on the challenge. The original engine was a Teledyne Continental TM-13, which is no longer available. What suggestions do you guys have with the info given......THX

Can you fit a Kubota in there? they are fairly cheap on ebay for a runner.

Thank you for the reply. The optional engine for this unit, at the time was a Kubota 1402 engine. I guess I would like to keep it gas but is not a biggy. I don't want to spend a lot on an engine, as I'm not sure what the rest is like, although it had to be functioning at the time of failure and with the low hours...around 1000, I suspect it should be OK. As you mentioned, a runner is the way to go. I have not looked at ebay and am not familiar with getting things thru them or with those one has to deal with. I like face to face dealings but maybe those days are done. However this info is pointing me in the right direction, so we'll see what happens....THX again Tazza.... If anyone else has info that will help me, don't let shyness hold you back...lol

I guess you could also try craigs list too.
You would find conerting to diesel will use less fuel and possibly more power at low speed.
Are you sure the 1402 has enough power? the V2203 engines are common as, around the 50hp mark.
