I have a "new to me" Mustang 1700, which I believe is the same as a JD 170...though there are many different versions of same. It has a pretty messed up wiring harness with what appears to be a Craftsman lawn tractor ignition. That worked well until all the wires fell off of it and I can't figure out how to put it back together. I can get it to turn over but it doesn't do the "bump" start and I get arcing between the motor mount and the main frame near the rear right axle. The basic schematic in the manual is for the early models with the key and push button type ignition but mine is a later serial number (500059) and would have had a standard ignition key - off/on-run/start/ spring loaded to run (JD part number GG090-31263). I intend to rewire for original switch but need schematic for said switch or whatever info can be provided.
