I got an LS-125 and today when I turned the key on the light for the seat belt didn't light. I plugged the seatbelt a few times but still nothing, so I can't start the engine. I put the box on service mode so i can start it and ran a jump wire for the boom valve so I can operate it. Checked the switch and it's fine. Any input why the seat belt circuit don't work anymore? Thanks

I'm pretty sure mine has a sensor on both the receiver and the reel. The reason I say that is because I can't connect the seat belt and then sit on top of it. It knows there isn't enough belt pulled out. Actually, I think my machine has two seat belt lights. I'll check tomorrow.

Sorry, I gave you some bad info in the last post. Mine only has the switch in the receiver. If the receiver tests fine, it must be the wiring to the brain unit or the brain unit itself.

Could the switch under the seat be tied to that same curcit. You could check that switch and wiring.I thought on mine you have too get up out of the seat to reset that curcit if you unhook the seatbelt after its hooked once.
But you said your light didnt come on the first time.

The LS125 has separate indicators for both the seat and seat belt. When you sit down, the seat LED illuminates. When you engage the seat belt into the receiver, the belt LED illuminates. cbucner, I just ordered the full service manual in PDF format. I expect to have access to it when I get home from work today. I'll see if I can provide some insight into the seat belt protection circuit.

I just got my manual today. Here's what it says about restraint system trouble shooting: seat switch unplugged - reconnect seat switch at rear, inoperative seat switch - replace switch, operator did not sequence system correctly - resequence system.... sit in seat and buckle seat belt.

By resequence I think what they mean is if you unhooked the belt you have to get off the seat and hook back up before it will start.. They do that to keep people from hooking up the seat belt and leaving it that way. Safety
In the process of trying to make it idiot proof they created a problem. Mike

I missed a step. If you unhook the belt you have to get off the seat ,sit back down and re hook the belt. turning off the ignition between steps. Mike

Yes, exactly. I don't mind that safety feature. I'm a network architect 35 hours per week so I think the idiot they are proofing the equipment from is guys like me. My machine is just a toy.

I will add, however, the text I entered above was cut/pasted from the manual. I did not paraphrase.

Ok , I checked the seat switch , and indeed that was the culprit. One of the wires was cut by the seat bracket. I fixed that , then the light for the seat belt went on. Everything fine but the engine won't start!!!! So I tried to do everything in order, I sat on the seat , the light for the seatbelt went on, pluged the belt light went off tried to start , nothing!! I checked the led lights on the box and this is what happends. turn the key on , the timer led comes on. What's this "timer" anyway?? in the same time the seat light goes on and when you plug the belt the belt light goes on. There's one more light "SOL" that doesn't come on. And the start light goes on when you crank it(When you can crank it, I noticed that before) So What's this loight "SOL" . Maybe that's the last step before I can start it. Thanks And Tom how much did you pay for the tech manual in pdf format.

The SOL. light may be your solenoid on your injection pump. Its what shuts the machine down when you turn the key off. It also has to open when you turn the key on. There may be a fuse blown.
Get a second person to sit in the seat and work the ignition while you go back and listen for a click at the injection punp. They will have to go thru the regular start sequence they dont need to crank the engine, just turn the key to the on position. You will see a wire going to the solenoid. Its about an inch in diameter and about 2 inches long. You could also see if it has power.
The timer is your preheat for your glow plug. Mike

"timer" can't be the preheat glow plugs since it turns on once you sit on the seat and it stays on a while after you get off the seat. It must be something else.

Forgot to post , the machine starts on "service mode" but in operation mode doesn't so it can't be the solenoid for the fuel. The boom doesn't work , even in service mode, everything else works.

I dont think the boom is intended to work in service mode. There are 2 solenoids that lock out the boom and bucket. One of them could be a problem. On my lx865 they are one the control block down between the peddles. You may have to remove a floor plate. Check fuses also. That pfd service manual would be great. These are guesses I have a different machine. Mike

The PDF manual cost me about 30 bucks. According to the site I bought it from, it is exactly the same manual as the printed version. In the manual, the no SOL symptom is possibly caused by a faulty key switch, battery in poor condition/dead, or a blown main 30A fuse (in the wiring harness).

Oh yes... the timer LED indicates the timer for the start sequence has started. As soon as an event happens, it starts monitoring the sequence to allow/disallow starting. It really just means the operator has caught the attention of the box.

SOL is for the boom solenoid. If it will not light, you will not have control of the boom.

Tom , where's that fuse?? the 30A fuse? I've seen two things in the engine compartment that looks like fuses, but they look moore like a strap or a cap for the wiring. I would really love to share some $$ for that manual if you're interested and can email me a copy. Let me know. Thanks
