I don;'t know what exactly controls the timer, , but a guess is, it reads off the temp of fluids,
I have a older model, the LX series, one before the LS series
and on mine, it varies how long it keeps glow plug on based on temps
I also have a over ride switch, which I also think the LS series also have, that you can manually push and hold in, to turn glow plugs on for longer periods of time if one wanted to
so, thats my guess,
other info,/food for thought,
Is I can also tell you my older NH machine is also a poor starter when cold out, it struggles to fire once below 35 degree's
and only struggles more as it gets lower
I even added a battery heater and an oil pan heater, switched to full syn oil, and it still struggles, and I also keep it on a battery tender, so fully charged all the time, and its the biggest CCA battery I can find, replaced every 4 yrs or sooner?? seems very hard on batteries too due to how hard it drains them in winter time starting things!
I plan to add a block heater this, yr, (been on to do list now for 5 yrs or so) HAHA)
as I think that is really whats needed one temps get cold on these NH skid steers in the older one's any how!
Not sure why ALL machine sold in cold climate areas, don;'t have them as standard items on them from the factory!
so hope this helps in some way!
