I have a leak coming from my motor cover on an E26. I haven't had time to really look at it myself.
I have a mobile mechanic that was supposed to show up two weeks ago. lol
So, I had a chance to look at it and found the dripping coming from the motor cover. Looks like I may need to try and repair it myself.
I have had to use it a couple times this way and all is well as long as I keep the hydro fluid replenished. No strange noises or actions.
Is this just a leak around the cover plate or can I expect a deeper issue with the motor itself?
Thanks for any advice or tips.

I assume that it is not the engine it self as you wrote about hydro oil. you might have a pin hole leak on a hydro hose that is spraying under load I guess. clean the area up. and have a helper watch that area as you operate the machine to locate leak ,make sure they use eye protection just in case.

Yeah, I should have said drive motor. The leak is coming out of the drive motor(hyd). It drips out the bottom of that cover even when not in use.

Is the leak on the inside side of the travel motor or the outside? If it's coming from the outside side, it may be a bad seal between the drive motor and gear case side of the assembly.

To be honest I don't really know. How do I determine that? All I know for now is I have hyd oil dripping out of the motor cover on the inside of the track.

The inside is the hydraulic side. The outside is the gearbox. There is a seal between them. If it were leaking out of the outside, it would mean the seal was leaking. It sounds like you have a straight up hydraulic leak. Remove the protective cover from the inside at the rear of the track. On the E26, there are 3 bolts. Pressure wash the travel motor and maybe you can see where it's leaking. It could be as simple as a failing hose. On the E26, there is no protection for them. They run into the frame through a rough hole.

Thanks, I will take a look first chance I get.
