i have a 2003 s185. i just put a new alternater in it and the batterry does not seem to charge up. i also have a newer batterry in it. the machine runs fin until the battery voltage gets low. when that battery gets low the parking brake seems to engage and i cant move it. charge the battery on a charger and it works fine until battery voltage gets low. it is throwing two code 3-9 and 3-14 bolt low voltage related. does anyone have any ideas? is there a short somewhere?

3-9 is battery voltage low and 3-14 is battery voltage extremly low. Put a voltage tester on the battery with the engine stopped and read the voltage and then start the engine and see if the voltage rises. It should be 13.5-14v with the engine running. Recheck that the smaller wire conections are good. Check the alternator fuse in the fuse panel.

i knew what the codes read and my next step was to do a voltage test. where is the fuse panel?

sounds like a blown alternator fuse , the fuse box is under the cover between your legs while seating in the seat , remove the two screws to access , another thing common I seen a few times on that machine is the power wire from the starter to the alt rubs on the fuel filter mounting bracket
