    843 lift arm hydraulics?

I guess that could be possible Hans. If you lightly press on the pedal it will "drift" down but if pedal is pressed very much there is no control to descent it drops all the way instantly. I think there should be some kind of resistance to keep if from dropping that quick. very dangerous and...

    843 lift arm hydraulics?

I have an older 843 that I ma working on. Machine runs but needs some more work. I have done quite a bit too it but still need more. Needs new carrier seals but I think I got that covered. My problem is when I go to lower the lift arms some times they come down slow but other times they drop...

    843 axle bearings and cups?

Anyone have the #'s for the bearings so I can get them outside of my dealer. Dealer wants $$$$ for them. I purchased seals from dealer and they were not bad on price but would like to try elsewhere for bearings and chain. Thanks.

    GP bucket size on 843?

I bought a 843 about 6 months ago that had a very small bucket on it. Delaer recommended a 68" low profile bucket which is what I put on it. Sized about right. Now just need to fix up the other issues on the machine.

    Grapple bucket or root rake?

Thinking of buying a grapple bucket to help clear and stack brush for burning. For sure looking at one with an open or slotted bottom to allow dirt to fall through but see the root rake grapples. Any of you running one of these for cleaning up brush? Which is best? Thanks woodhick

    843 axle seal leak?

I have an older 843 that is leaking on a couple of the axle seals. One front and one rear. My plan is to redo all 4 with new bearings and seals while I am at it. My question is there a way to pull the rear axle and seal without pulling all the hydraulic pumps? This is my first skid steer so hope...

    Brush mower and backhoe question?

I need some input on a couple attachments I am contemplating. First the backhoe. I have a bobcat 843 loader. I also got in the deal a Case D100 backhoe attachment. Of course it dont fit the bobtach. I can modify and make mounts to loader arms but trying to decide if backhoe is worth it. How...

    Rebuild or trade up?

Thanks Ken I am going forward right now with keeping this machine. I have already stripped and repainted it and put on new tires and rims. Got the seals for it in Friday for the drive motors. I also found I have real bad axle seal leak that will need addressed. My plan is to run it temporary and...

    843 drive motor?

Ordered seals and quad rings for both sides today. Now for a dumb question. I am assuming that the fill level for the lower case is up to the plug that located on the front of the housing? Is that correct? Did pressure wash about 5# of old oil and gunk out of bottom end around the pumps and...

    843 drive motor?

Thanks. Do I need to do anything to the motor itself? or just that ring and seal? How is the oil getting out of the motor? I guess the case drain allows it to get to this area outside of the motor.

    843 drive motor?

Thanks Dan please check on that for me. Jerry I have tried the search function multiple times and was getting no results. Tried again and I get one which is my post. Tried hitting search up to 5 or 6 times. Not sure on that one. About how much time does it take to pull one motor and put seals...

    843 drive motor?

Tried doing a search for "drive motor" with no results. Is there anyway to determine which motor is leaking?

    843 drive motor?

I am loosing hydraulic oil at a greater rate than I see leaking outside. I am assuming its a drive motor leaking into the chain case but have not confirmed yet. Is it possible to rebuild/reasel the motors or do they have to be or should they be replaced? Thanks

    Rebuild or trade up?

Forgot to mention Jerry on the attachments. The hoe has very little use and all pins are good and tight but machine has set outside. Boom and dipper cylinders are ok but the one for the pivot (slew) is rusted pretty bad. I have it covered in grease now until I can get time to pull it and see if...
