Actually, I think you nailed it. I pulled the fuel line out of the tank and the line that attaches to the elbow broke off and fell back into the tank. I'm guessing it had a bad crack right there that was sucking air some of the time. I'm going out now to see if that's the whole problem.

Thanks for the info. The only number I can find is on a casting that is just inside the right cover plate, that the front of the motor bolts to. It's a 7 digit number starting with 670 if I remember right, which doesn't seem like it would match up with the serial number from this machine. I'll...
