Driving down the road in my skid steer and I noticed my wheel rolling next to me. Back right tire. I had slipped off a curb previously and came back on kind of rough, with a full bucket. Any special tools, procedures or advice you can give me. Thanks.

That doesn't sound good at all. Did the hub welds break or did the axle snap?

Ouch! Or did it just break the studs off? If it is studs it's an easy fix on most machines as you just jack it it up knock the old studs out and stick new ones in. Make sure you torque them properly and they are all even when done so you know they pulled through properly or they will just break again.

No, lugs did not break. Shaft came out without sprocket. Doesnt appear to have broken.

Ok, well, too bad it wasn't that, it would be an easy fix. Since it came out the way it did it sounds like either a locknut came loose or a clip broke off the axle. If the clip broke off you need to open things up and put it back in with a new clip and find the old one so it doesn't cause further damage.

Looks like a clip broke to me. There is an indent on the shaft' where maybe a lock ring. goes. If I take that panel off will all the oil drain out.

Some machines have a drain plug, some just drain from a bolt hole. Not sure how much oil yours holds but I imagine there is a bit in there. My tanks are huge! If it were me I'd drain it, maybe even put a drain plug in if there isn't one. Then wash it out good to get any metal out before putting it back together. If your axel is groved it's a good bet the clip broke so it is floating in there in two or more pieces. Get them ALL out or you will have bearings and/or gears failing. Use a magnet if you need to to get the junk out of there.
