Hi Not sure if this is where I post this but I need a little help. I have a 1998 lx865 turbo Skidsteer. I want to replace the glowplugs but dont have the slightest clue on what to do and where to find em on the engine. Is there a online how to for this? Thanks Tony

The Ford engine used in the LX865's did not have glow plugs, the engine used an intake heater. The heater has an electrical wire and a fuel line that run to it. Electricity heats the coil and that ignites the fuel creating a small fire in the intake manifold. If yours is not working make sure the relay is working when you turn the key on and the heater is receiving 12V power. You can also take the intake tube from the turbo to the manifold so that you can look into the intake and visually see if the coil heats and the flame forms. Make sure the engine is cold, or you can just unplug the temperature sender so the computer sees the engine as being cold.

Thanks Aaron, Do you know where the Temp sender is? I didnt state in the first post that my problem at hand is the computer reads cold and never reaches beyond that point even after running for hours and the unit stalls alot during operation. If the sender is disconeccted that might fix one problem.

The temperature sender should be near the upper radiator hose. That most likely will not fix your stalling problem though. When does the machine stall? Is it when the machine is bouncing around and a loose connection on the fuel solenoid? Or is it more unpredictable? How old is your 865? Does it have the electric fuel pump or the hand primer? It could be sucking air somewhere. There are a bunch of things that could be wrong, just a matter of finding out more of what it is doing and then trying to narrow things down.

It is a 1998 model. Pretty sure it has an electric pump Ive never hand primed it the whole time Ive had it. It Stalls when I am driving on the road no bumps when it stalls. It just dies when I least expect it. I was thinking maybe the fuel was freezing because It stalls more when its cold out. I'll try maybe a fuel treament and let you know how it runs.
