Any of those engine will work. They will probably have a pressed metal sump, so you will need to use your old one if you have a 743. I was always told for a 743 to never use larger than a 1902/1903. The 2203 has more power and the pumps can over heat or so i was told my the workshop manager at my local Bobcat dealer. Others have installed a 2203 with excellent results.

mine has a 2203 in it. To be honest I have'nt had the chance yet to run it long enough to see if it gets the pump hot. I will say when you push/pull it spins out a lot. That kinda scares me a little bit I keep thinking I am going to snap the main drive chain. So I keep the spining to a bare minimum.
