To replace or rebuild fan angle drive assembly?

Got ready for the snow storm last night. Added gear oil to fan drive. Went out this morning and found gear oil laying on the floor. There is a lot of side to side movement on the pulley. Guessing bearings are bad? CalLed Bobcat and they want 600.00 for the complete unit. How hard is it to rebuild? Any thoughts. I have to use it today anyway.

At one time I saw Bobcat fan drives listed on Surplus Center. Just had a quick nose about and didn't see them, but I might have overlooked it. I can't imagine one would be that difficult to rebuild with just a few bucks worth of bearings and seals, if the housing isn't damaged. Found it in an old catalog, p/n 13-1422 for just under a hundred bucks. Bobcat p/n 6734104

The bearings are cheap and easy to get hold of, the biggest issue is the gears, if they are worn, you'll need a new one.
Surplus centre had them, but i believe they sold out a while ago, but worth a call or email to check.

keep in mind its a simple ring and pion set up. parts for rebuild are NLA, from dealer, brgs and shims should be able to find, (somewhere) its not like they quit making em. bobcat does offer a speedy sleeve for shaft. and the seals speedy fits a little sloppy I have found a little Loctite 660 will take it up just be sure to let it harden while centered, backlash should be about 2 to 4 I belive . I wouldn't be to concerened with heel to toe contact, I gamble 30 bucks on parts before shellining out 600

Thanks for all the help. I 'm going to rebuild it. Took it apart today. Waiting for all skidsteer to get the shaft sleeve in to see how it fits the shaft to repair where the seal rides. How does the upper bearing stay lubed?

splash I assume never reall looked into it upper brg failure has never been an issue
