when i flip the two switches to green the left one goes out imediately and locks the machine
The one on the right should be left in "green" all the time unless you are using the remote hydraulics. The switch can be faulty, also check the fuses.
Thanks I will check the fuses and I think I will see if I can find a service manual for my machine for the future. The one on the right should be left in "green" all the time unless you are using the remote hydraulics.
If I swap the switches that should tell me whether or not it's the switch. I didn't realize the other switch was for the auxillary hydraulics. Thanks I will check the fuses and I think I will see if I can find a service manual for my machine for the future.
You might check your seatbelt and operator proximity (under seat) switches too.If I swap the switches that should tell me whether or not it's the switch. I didn't realize the other switch was for the auxillary hydraulics.
Thanks for all the input. I have orderd a service manual for my machine. I have checked the fuses and tried to swap switches. The fuses are fine and the switches are different but when I put it back together it worked momentarily. I decided to try messing with the switches and when I turned the right side to red and the left side to green I was able to move back and forth but my foot peddals were still locked and it was beeping. Hopefully the service manual will get here soon or I may pull out what is left of my hair. The right switch (in red) is for use with auxilliary hydraulics when you are out of the seat (forgot to mention that, sorry), like when you are using the backhoe attachment. All other times should be green. Both switches should be green-green or red-red for single operator operation. Thanks for all the input. I have orderd a service manual for my machine. I have a 2004 2054 and I was running it last summer and the wheels locked up all of a sudden, I too thought it was one of those two safety switches gone bad but when I talked to the dealer he said it was probably the timer, it is a little black box about 2 inches to the right of the switches behind the panel, he told me not to bolt the new one in, he said to hook up the wires and just lay it in there. He was right , it fixed my machine. Hope this helps you,The right switch (in red) is for use with auxilliary hydraulics when you are out of the seat (forgot to mention that, sorry), like when you are using the backhoe attachment. I talked to the guy that I bought the machine from and he said that he had a problem with it too and it was that timer. I lifted the seat again and moved thewires around to where they were in a little different position and it has worked perfect ever since. That leads me to believe I have a broken wire inside the insulation, because there is no visual break. I think I am narrowing it down thanks again.I have a 2004 2054 and I was running it last summer and the wheels locked up all of a sudden, I too thought it was one of those two safety switches gone bad but when I talked to the dealer he said it was probably the timer, it is a little black box about 2 inches to the right of the switches behind the panel, he told me not to bolt the new one in, he said to hook up the wires and just lay it in there. Check your.harness where the transitions from the cab to the fame. The 2054 is TERRIBLE about that. I have had to fix every one we sold and every the dealership sold after I quit. The delay timer is also a bad item on the 44s. The control module used to go bad a lot in the 44s. I had one I faught with for a year and the customer never wanted to spend the money and try it (was intermittent). I finally bought one put it in and it was fine. It was costing me more time as a tech and I was loosing money working on it.Hello I also have a 2044 with the same on going problem some days it runs fine then just seems to lock up and will not move I have replaced the timer relay once before which makes me think it should be working properaly I also have tried a new switch with no luck, was wondering if you found a solution to this problem any info would be helpful thanks

Hi. It seems you are expert in mustang skid steer maintenance from your posts. I am hoping that I might have your advice concerning a 2004 2044 I've been struggling with. Tthe problem is with the park brake lockout. Is there a way to test timer by bypassing it? Also I'd like to test the solenoid but I'm not sure of location/accessibility. If I'm on the wrong track I'd be grateful to know as well as the correct roubleshooting method. Thank you so much for your time and anything you may hsve to say on the matter will be greatly appreciated. J.yexley Bradley South Dakota. I have a 2003 model year 2044 and I'm chasing this same problem with the parking brake lockout. I've repaired several broken wires in the main loom where it transitions from the cab into the engine compartment. The seatbelt and seat switches are both functioning correctly. I've replaced all the switches and still have a periodic problem with the brakes locking, although not as often and of course it always happens at the worst possible time. I too would love to know if there is a trouble shooting method to test/bypass the timer and/or solenoid? I use this skidsteer on our farm for doing cattle chores. I really need it to be dependable when I need it. Thankfully I have tractors I can fall back on but this is getting old... Thanks in advance for any assistance/guidance anyone can provide!Hi. The timer in the front dash can be bypassed by jumping the 2 orange wires. Don't cut them just add the jumperI have a 2003 model year 2044 and I'm chasing this same problem with the parking brake lockout.
