Hi everyone, I've got an old Mustang 441 and having some problems with the hydraulic drive pumps. It lacks drive power on one side. I think I've narrowed it down to the wear plate in the pump being faulty, but not 100% sure. There appears to be no wear inside the pump, and have checked the relief valve. Has anyone experienced a problem like this? Does anyone know if replacement wear plates are available for these pumps? It looks like it's made by Cessna. Any suggestions or any other info much appreciated. thanks matt

If the wear/valve plate has marks in it, it will cause lower power. You can remove the marks with wet and dry sandpaper and a sheet of glass. It takes some time, but can be done. Ensure the face of the rotating group is not worn too. These two parts MUST sit flat against eachother. Even a few thou will cause a substantial loss of power.
