i have an old bobcat with a xh engine and it fires the spark plug when you turn it over the first time than it quits frieing how do you check the coil and how many oms should it be

I would start with checking the capacitor in the distributor, if you are getting a spark at the start them it quits i'd suspect that or points (if fitted). I assume its a standard old style car ignition coil? if so, you should be able to throw a new one at it, they are pretty cheap.

its a magneto coil inside the distributor
