LS160 charging question

Hello, could anyone tell me what a 2004 ls160 should charge at at idle?

Mine runs at 14.4 volts 30 to 60 seconds after startup.

I have not checked it with a volt meter at the batt but the overhead says 12.6 I just had the rear boom pins repaired and welding had to be done and I don't know if he removed the batt ground cable or not. If he didn't what would that have distroyed?

It can toast the EIC circuit board, ($800.00 or so) but if it still light up the guages, its likely fine. Get a mult meter and readthe voltage at the alt nd battery. May be time for a regulator or a alt rebuild.

Hopefully its just the regulator in the alternator. I toasted one on my 743 when i welded the bucket. I thought, na, it will be fine, sadly i was mistaken.

Checked it today at batt it is 14.5 and same on display don't know what happened there. But seems fine as of now. Thanks for the reply.
