As the subject field implies, where is this sensor/probe? I've found an object mounted in the engine block, near the diesel pump. This thing got three cables attached to it. They're attached in a triangle pattern. Now, the reason I'm uncertain of this objects function is because I can't find any pictures picturing oil pressure sensors that lookes like this, hence my rather "newbish" question. :) A picture, a drawing or just a description will help me alot. The engine is a Perkins 4.236, and the Bobcat I've been told is from around 1988. Thanks in advance! Johan

None of my Perkins service manuals make any reference to the location of the sender but the wiring diagrams show it as having only one wire.

Okay, thanks for the input. On what side of the engine is the sensor fitted in those service manuals? :) //Johan

They don't show or say. I would start by looking near the oil filter. There should only be two senders on the engine(oil pressure and coolant temp). The wiring diagram I have is for a 843 with a Perkins and the wire color to the oil sender is yellow with a light green stripe.

Okay. Maybe one of the previous owners have relocated the sensor, and at the same time replaced it with a non-standard one. As you suggest, I'm only able to find two senders, oil pressure and water temp. So I guess the sensor I'm looking for is the one I've found. :) Although its on the opposite side of the engine in relation to the oil filter and dipstick. Its pretty close to the diesel pump. Thanks for all the support, OldMachinist. Appreciate it. :) //J
