L230 starter

Howdy, has anyone replaced the starter on a L230 skid steer. Which is the best way to get to it? Thanks

Hey there, the starter on the L230 skid steer can be a bit tricky to reach. The best way is usually from the bottom, removing the skid plate to give yourself some room. You might also need to loosen the hydraulic lines for better access.

Thanks, that's very helpful, I hadn't considered that approach. I removed that cover and can at lease see the starter now. Yes, a bit tricky but I believe I can handle it, now to figure a safe way to elevate the rear. My ramps have a sticker that I can barely read, I think they say 6500 per set. I think that should be ok but I will take it slow and be certain.

If you have some good jack stands set them up also when you get it on the ramps if you have room to do so.

A bit tricky is right, but it's off. I ran out of cuss words, had to reuse a couple, lol. Any leads on a starter solenoid, all's I can find is the whole starter. Thanks
