I have a 2005 LS 180. It won't start. When i sit on the seat no dash lights come on. This initially made me suspect a problem with the seat switch. I replace the switch and and wiring harness that supplies the switch and the seat belt buckle. I have checked all the fuses in the cab and engine compartment. I have cleaned all the electrical connections that i could find. After replacing the switch and wiring harness it still won't start. However, when I flip the over ride switch it starts and runs fine (but obviously the arms are then locked). What else should I try or be looking for?

Unplug the new seat harness from the main harness in back of the seat. Check if you have 12V at one of the three terminals of the main harness connector. If there is no power at one of the terminals then the problem is between the plug and the 5A fuse in the engine fuse compartment. If you have 12V then take a jumper wire placing one end of the jumper wire on the terminal which has 12V. Put the other end of the jumper wire on one of the other two terminals. If the dash lights do not come on then place the end of the jumper wire onto the other terminal. One of the terminals should cause the dash lights to come on. If they do not come on then you have a problem between the main harness connector and the instrument panel or even the instrument panel. If the lights come on then there is a problem with the sear harness or seat switch.
