I'm trying to service my Dad's 5635 SXT. Hasn't been started in several years until yesterday. We put a new battery in it and it fired right up. We cannot find an operator / service manual for it though and I have a few questions since there's no longer a Gehl dealer around: What is crankcase oil capacity with filter change? Where is the crankcase oil drain located? Will all the oil drain out, and if not, how much should I add initially? I think Dad was using 30w oil. Is this recommended? It probably will not be started below freezing temps. Does anyone have replacement filter references for Oil, Air, and fuel filters? I see some on WIX but do not know if they are reliable references. Thanks for your help!

Try FRAM website. If you cannot find your exact model number (your machine model), they have a catalogue with other manufacturers' filters and you can determine the type of filters from there using competitors' filter numbers. Also go to for example ebay and type in an engine model of your machine (e.g. "perkins 4.154 oil filter") and you should be able to determine the type of the filter you need. Most of the times but NOT always people know what they are selling. Similarily with other filters. Dealing with a dealer is kind of complicated, since Gehl uses its own part numbering system. Therefore you are buying for example an SKF bearing but with the Gehl's part number. I think they do this so you have to use their part distributors, not the general manufacturer (and usually pay more ;)). I just replaced the drive axle seals and they were standard SKF seals available right off the shelve. Majority of the parts come from the major manufacturers, and they do not have to be necessarily ordered directly from through a dealership. There is always more than one way to skin a cat and your wallet.
