I'm looking at a 91 model 4510 with a 1.9 litre ford gas engine, no 3rd valve, non std gehl quick attach bucket, straight not all bent up, faded original paint and 4800 hrs. Anyone experienced with these machines. Any weak spots to check for. Value? Are these about a 743 class, 1200 roc machine?
Thanks
Ken

4,800 hours on a petrol engine is quite a lot...
Does it still start easily and run smooth with lots of power? No smoke?
Thats where i would start looking at least.

My thoughs on the hours to, but he says it runs nice uses no oil. I may bring my comp test with me and check the blowby to. The machine sure does not look beat up for 5K hrs though
wonder what rebuilding one of these little ford would cost. Looks to be a pretty good machine for under $5000.
self level bucket, hydro drive, if it need a engine I'd be temped to try and find a little diesel,
Wonder how much more a gas unit would burn per hour. Probably double the volume

You may be able to get parts for it easily, most of the escort engines are interchangeable with automotive engine parts.
As for fuel, i thought diesel has about 50% more energy than petrol. The only other issue with a petrol engine is it hasn't got as much low rev torque, but you will get used to that.
