My 85xt started having an issue with the right side not pulling when it warms up to operating temperature. Everything works fine until I turn the engine off. When I start it back up the right side doesn't want to drive until I rev the engine up and then it jerks and takes off. It will work fine all day until I shut it off and crank it back up. I have read several posts with people having the same issue but none have said what they did to fix the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The control sticks tell the servos how far to move the swash plate of the hydro pumps. The swash plate on those higher horsepower machines has too much force on it for direct manual control. If your machine is 2 speed, there is most likely something similar to a servo that canes the swash plate angle on the drive motor. But the drive motor swash plate should never be a zero displacement position like the pump swash plate will be in neutral.

Did you find a solution to your problem with the right drive? I have the exact same problem with my 85xt.

I am going to post what I found for my solution. I realize this is an old thread but google brought me here when searching my symptoms. Maybe my solution can help others. My problem was in the right drive motor itself. There were 2 o rings that had disintegrated in the motor. One was to seal the internal cap for the shuttle valve and the other was a high pressure one in the center of the motor. I pulled it apart and found this, and threw an o ring kit from case into it. I also put new springs and poppets into the shuttle valve since I was in there. Works like a charm now. No more jerking to life after shutting the machine off.

Sorry I haven't checked this forum in awhile. Thanks for posting what you found to be the problem. I'm still having the same issue even after leaving it at the case dealer for a month and a half. They said it was the parking break sticking which I knew wasn't right. When I get time I will pull the drive motor out and tear into it.
