Hi Guys, I hope everyone is doing well I your endeavors.
I have a question for anyone familiar with the Wisconsin VF4D/VH4D engines in the Bobcat 600 & 610. I'm in South Carolina and the summer heat here can get very hot. I was thinking of installing and engine oil cooler with a small fan to help with the heat. I have read that these engine have very low oil pressures, 4 to 5 psi. If I install and oil cooler; 1. Would it actually make a difference with the way the lubrication system is designed? and 2. Would the oil cooler affect the already low oil pressure? I hope my questions on this make sense. Thanks in advance for and input!

Don't do it . I rebuild Wisconsin vh engines . there's is a very small oil pump and lube is all by spray nozzles 6 of them . Anything that takes away oil from them is not going to end well . maybe go to a 10 40 oil from a brand name company like Castrol .

I was even told by a wisconsin rebuilder do not bother with a oil pressure gauge either. I downloaded a old chart from wisconsin and it did allow the use of 15/40 diesel oil on their 2 cylinder in line 18 hp engine. I had that engine retro fitted in a bobcat 500 and it operated just fine for many hours might still be going I sold the machine bought something newer.
