Hello to all, My question is i have a Bobcat Brand Trencher that was being used on my S175 a few years back and the user fried my implement pump while running the trencher. I repaired the bobcat (by dumping and flushing out the hydraulic system and pump replacement) but the trencher has sat for a few years indoor's I've been scared to use the trencher due to fear of metal shavings potentially being within the hydraulic system on the trencher and being passed back to my Bobcat. What suggestions to you guys having prior to using the trencher again. Thought i have is to taking to my Local bobcat dealer and having him perform a maintenance check on it????????????? Any thoughts what be great

You could remove the female coupler on the trencher and run the hose in a bucket. Hook the male coupler to the skidsteer. You will pump your skidsteer hydraulic system empty doing this, but it will flush the trencher. If a guy is really worried, he could pull the trencher motor apart to see if it was the cause of the pump failure. I'll give the trencher the benefit of the doubt it wasn't the cause. Your reilef vavle was probably out of adjustment allowing too high of system pressure. Continuous use of a trencher put too high of a strain on the pump.
