Best Attachments for Caterpillar Skid Steers – What Do You Recommend?

Hey there, I recently purchased a Caterpillar skid steer and looking for opportunities for attachments to maximize its versatility on the job site. I'm particularly interested in the attachments for material handling, excavation, and grading jobs.

I would like to get insights on must-have attachments, leading brands, or any other advice on maintaining them. Also, if you are a user of Caterpillar heavy construction equipment, how do they compare with aftermarket options?

A 4 in 1 bucket is great. It works as a bucket, grapple, grader and dozer blade.

I would stick with brand name items or USA made ( or a company that is located in the country you live in ).

The China stuff you find at auctions may look good and have a great price but the materials they use are cheap. Used name brand items at auctions are a better choice.

There are small USA companies that make good quality attachments and they back them. You also have someone to ask questions before buying.

I think that fair prices can be had on reasonably good products around where you are located is what to look for. When these things are shipped is prices can get away from you and make it to costly to buy, so maybe a better quality can be bought local for the same price as a lower quality and have to be shipped. On e bay I bought a good bobcat 6 ft toothed bucket for 200 bucks ,I needed to replace all the teeth ,but still was in it fairly cheap.. But I drove 75 miles and picked it up and that made that difference.

I had to buy a new bucket for my S175 bobcat a while back, and went with the bobcat brand. At the same time, I bought forks, also from bobcat. I use both about evenly. What really makes the bucket more versatile is adding teeth. It now can dig much quicker. The teeth i bought were aftermarket on eBay, and have held up fine.

I'll second the 4 in 1 bucket, it's what I use most on my machine, once you get the hang of it you'll wonder how you ever got along without one. I also have a regular bucket with teeth for heavy digging but I only use that rarely here and there... That and a set of pallet forks, they come in handy for all sorts of lifting and moving chores.

In my Experience, 4 in 1 buckets are very popular. (I don't have one to offer)
But Grapples are our most popular Add. Depending on what you are doing with your machine, any of our 3 styles are best. for most general applications, the Bucket Grapple is perfect. The ability to scoop minimum amounts but grab and hold, is awesome. But for property maint. people really like the Root/Rake style if they do a lot of tree work.
