Sooo, second post here, just picked up this '77 Bobcat 630. It's a 4cyl gasser, air cooled. It was running when I bought it so I haven't done much else besides run it. Until today when... the electric fuel pump started to get hot, smoke and short itself out.
After a quick look at the "fuel system" here, it appears this is not original equipment
. I'm digging around for the manual now but, in the mean time, I need to figure something out to get this thing moving before someone from my HOA sends me a picture and a fine for having it in my yard.
A few questions I'm hoping someone here can help me sort out:
Did this thing originally have an electric fuel pump?
If so, where was it mounted? Obviously screwing it into the fuel tank is not an option and the previous owners zip-tie skills are a little lacking.
Any idea why they may have added the fuel regulator? Thinking maybe this was a band-aid for carburetor issues, any thoughts?
Should I just replace the fuel pump, attach all this stuff a little better and roll it??
What would you do if it was yours?
Thanks in advance!!
Shane
