Hi guys,
I was pushing snow with my LS185 and a hydraulic snow pusher , during the storm when i would activate aux hydraulics to angle pusher it shuts the machine down. all other functions work and no warning light are on .....i just have to restart it, re-fasten seat belt and unlock brake and all is fine until i try aux hyd's again...any ideas before i take it in?
Thanks,
Steve

Mine does this too. I keep spares. It's the diode most likely. The diode is located in the main fuse box. It has to wire going to a black rubber connector that resembles a trailer connector. They're about $18 at the dealer. BUT I make my own for 50 cents. I got the value off the diode and crossreferenced to ones at Radio Shack. I cut the old one's top off and resoldered the new diode in. Be sure it has the right polarization when you solder it in ---I think there's a silver stripe that has to correlate to one terminal. Under the right circumstances the diode will also blow a relay, fry it, then fry the IP. Been there. BUT I found a $7 printed circuit chip to replace the IP's $500 price.

Radio Shack p/n 1N4004 (2) pack for $.99. Be sure to note which terminal has the striped end on the diode on the old one.

Just trying to figure out photos here. Sorry.

You need to hit the spacebar once after you post the link, then it will turn blue and work.

I don't have the ability to look at any pix. Lift the boom full up , remove left side panel, remove fuse box cover. Look for a black rubber connector of sorts that looks like it would be used on a trailer 2 wire connection. It is probably ziptied to other wires to keep it from jostling around---just two wires with a black connector with removable top end. The top end has a male and female just like the wire end. The top end is where the diode is. If you cut it open, use a very sharp exacto or knife and shave off slices of the top end a little at a time to slowly reveal the diode. The diode is maybe 1/4" long and 3/16" diameter. If it is fried it will be burnt in half like blown resistor (it is used as resistor which is why it burns out). Mine was using 3 a month due to a bad connection of the 2 speed switch connector. I used to rebuild my spares with a dab of silicone, but then got wise and just twisted the diode wires together rather than soldering, and no silicone. That way I could immediately see if the diode was fried.

maybe your hydraulic flow is backwards to the aux. equipment. This would cause back pressure to the pump, and will stall the engine. On my LS170, the aux. hyd. is controlled by the right stick handle, if I operate it the wrong way, it will load up and stall the machine.
