863 hydro leak ????????????

I have a 863 bobcat skid steer really not sure of the year bought it just to have something to mess aroud with. anyways it has a leak on what i would call the valve body its the thing that has the vavles the run the bucket and the arms. I have a bad leak looks to be coming out of the middle valve.Now is this something that is hard to replace? should i take it out of the machine its got more lines running to it the i can count. I am pretty good as far as mechanical knowlegde but just wanted to see if anyone else has done this or had this problem> any help would be appreciated i would prob even mail you the rest of this bag of salt and vinegar potato chips if it works.

Leave the valve in the machine, there should be enough room to get the spools out the back of the control block. Replace the seals and re-install it.
It's not hard, just make sure you clean the area really well and watch the directions of the seals as you remove them and put them back in.

Your Bobcat dealer would be your best bet. They are not that expensive. He will likely want to know the serial number of your machine, as they did change control designs over the years. Another option is LPS (Loader Part Source), they advertise on this site. HTH

Bobcat will sell you a kit, if you are not in a big rush, you can take the seals out and take them to a hydraulic seal shop and they can match them for you. Ensure they give you quality seals and you shoudl be good to go. The place i get mine from actually supply Bobcat with their hydraulic seals that they repackage and sell for many times their buy price.

So i got the new seals in my bobcat dealer had them in stock was actually very easy i cant belive i thought about paying somone to fix it. Now in my process of trying to figure out how to get all the fluid and water from the belly of it i crawled underneath and started looking for a drain plug(wish i would of just scooped it out lol).I stumbled apon two plugs at the rear i thought nice i will just pop this out and be on my way. so i wrestled the first one out and then all of a sudden diesel fuel blows in my face and all over me i panic and jam my finger in the hole thinking how am i going to get it back in(glad i just toped it off with fuel). after i lose a couple gallons on me and my driveway i get the plug back in. Now the second one must be what i need lol. so i pull the second plug out and a bunch of water and burnt oil start coming out i think thats it i got it but the level in the haul does not go down lol. I then ask around and realize thats the chain gear case drian plug and i just emptied it out. but it all worked out because i bet i got 5 gallons of water out of that thing. now to the main question how do i get the haul emptied out? can i just drill a hole and tap it and put a bolt in it for future problems. thanks everyone for the help

There should be holds cut in there to allow it to drain, but they usually get plugged up. I assume you are talking about the rear parts near the drive motors full of water?
Glad you drained the chain case, you don't water in there! Give it a good clean and fill with fresh oil.
