753L Hydrostatic oil change questions

I just had both my lift cylinders rebuilt and figured it would be a great time to change the HYD oil. No, I don't have a book, so I do have some questions. On the front lower side of the Hyd tank there is a silver filter about 5" long and 1 1/4" wide. Is this a remove and replace thing or can it be taken off and cleaned? Next thing is how much of the old fluid do I try to get out? Is there a drain plug on the bottom of the pump or the big valve body? I was told that my present fluid is contaminated with water (condensation) so I want as much out as I can get. Hydrostatic fluid - Do I stick with the BobCat (liquid gold) fluid or is there another fluid or Hydraulic oil that is acceptable? Also, how much fluid do I get? 5 gal. - 10 gal? Anything else that a less than qualified person like me should know? I do know how to run it afterwards to get everything full and let the air settle out (a previous question here) Thanks for any advice.

I have a 743 and have seen in here they bleed out of the aux till the sound changes and refill untill clean and don't max out rams to help get the air out

10-30 10-40 I am going to use 15-40 so I can have one fluid for everything it is cheaper and I am in Texas

So you are saying to just drain my tank, refill, and thru purging - get the rest out?

From what I have read just purg all my tank does not have a drain even if it does sounds like a big mess just don't run it out when you hear a change shut it down and fill

The manual for my 753G shows the hydraulic tank holds 3.5 gallons and the entire hyd system holds 6 gallons total. I was at the dealer a few weeks ago and talked to a service guy I know. I asked him if I could top off my hyd system with 10w-30, since I was repairing a hyd hose. He said I could in my machine. Because thats what they used back then. As far as bobcat hyd fluid goes, he said its basically 10w-30 with a few extra "goodies" added. As far as price went. The bobcat hyd fluid was only $3 more than bobcat 10w30 for a 2 1/2 gallon jug. If it were my machine, I'd buy 2 jugs of bobcat hyd fluid and top off with 10w-30 if needed. Also, when your hyd system is empty its a great time to check your case drain filters and clean them up if needed.
