Regretfully, I must part with my 751....doesn't want to start.....would be a nice machine for someone with more time and knowledge. In southwest Ohio if anyone is interested....will make a good deal to have it gone. Still building house, but Bobcat to tired to help.....

It's got the....(drum roll please)...Peugeot motor...mechanic who worked at Bobcat for 16 years looked at it. Timing, compression issues??
Ah, the alien in the fleet. I had one, it worked great.
Did it just stop working or has it been getting worse and worse?
You may be able to get it up and running again if you were to put some time into it. Checking the timing, which is pretty easy, 2 bolts and a pin. If the belt broke, you may have more serious damage....

Oh, does it smoke when cranking? I know the glow timers can cause issues. It will just puff smoke and not start. Even a quick shot of ether or WD40 while the engine is cranking into the air cleaner, it it pops, it may not be all bad news.

It does chug black smoke when cranking. Fuel to all the injectors has been verified. What are these glow timers you speak of? I ran a jumper cable direct to the glow plugs. It has always been hard to start. There is a hissing sound right after it cranks trying to start. I thougt it sounded like a small coolant leak. Mechanic who looked at it said it sounded like a head gasket leaking (??). It has always had a "coolant" smell to it so I figure there is a hose leaking. Was hard to start the few times I used this year. Then it quit under a medium load backfilling the foundation. Could never get it started again...The mechanic mentioned timing. Could it have gotten off time while it was running? Is there any info posted on this site that details how to check the timiing? Thanks, Mike

Look up my profile and send me an e-mail, i can send you the section for the engine out of the manual. It's pretty easy. You can use some metric bolts and thread them into the cam and injector pulleys. If they and the hole in the fly wheel line up, it's correct.
Not sure about the hiss, id have suspected PCV valve or the sound of air by-passing the rings. Not sure you'd hear a head gasket leak like that or not....
