I have a 642B that I am having some issues with...At first the bobcat was driffting when in the neutral position, so I adjusted the steering to stop the drifting. Now when turning the bobcat the hydralic light comes on, the engine stalls and the bucket lacks the pwoer that it had. I have tried to readjust the steering several times with no change. I am also hearing and feeling a "vibration" near the front of the Hydralic pump , near the brake lever. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

You didn't bump the right stick to enable the aux hydraulics did you? grab the right stick, pull it all the way to the elft and let it spring back to neutral.

Tried your suggestion with no improvement. At first I was thinking that it may be the left drive motor.....BUT.......I don't think that that would effect the bucket movement.... Also checked to make sure brake wasn't sticking or dragging......This issue seems to have started when I adjusted the steering so I have retried the adjustment with no improvement. .....I am waiting to get a pressure guage to see what pressure is present....Maybe change filter to see if there is any improvement.....

Changed Hyd filter....Still no change.... If I move right stick forward and then move the left stick forward the "grinding and vibration" does not seem as bad. Still doesn't seem to have the power that it did and the hydraulics seem like there is a leak or that it is "by-passing" some where. I don't have any experience with hydraulics and have a little fear about opening up the system. ANY help would be great. Thanks.

Sounds strange. You could always try swapping drive motors, see if it's a motor issue.
The park brake is off right?
Don't be afraid of opening teh system. ust keep it clean though
Not sure what to get you to check next though....

Brake is off......At first I thought that the brake was causing the issue, so I completely disengaged the brake. As soon as I pressure wash everything I will swap drive motors. Is there a "check valve" or "restrictor" in the drive motor? Thanks for the help.

No check valve, but there is a shuttle valve that allows internal leakage to go back to the reserve tank (small hose). It moves when you go from forward to reverse. If it was bad, it should just limit power in one direction.

After cleaning everything with a pressure washer i discovered two items of intrest.......A hydraulic line running to the left drive motor was preventing the right control stick from going to the neutral position (pinched below control lever).........The left control stick and lever was missing the bottom bolt on th block in front of the lever going in to the pump. After rerouting the hydraulic line and rplaceing the bolt....Then re adjusting the steering.......everything works better. still having an issue with the bucket "drifting" down.......I quess I'll try to figure that out now...Thanks for the help!!

Good to hear you got the steering working better.
Bucket drift could be as easy as a bad cylinder piston seal or bad seals in your control block.
