Is there a seal under the injectors?

I am getting a small leak at at least 1 injector.... the nut on the lines are tight and the bleed back hose on top doesn't seem to be leaking...
Haven't pulled one out yet.... Thanks

I found your thread at
very educational. Where I worked, we did not rebuild or adjust pressures on the injectors, we just replaced them if they failed testing. but that was not a New Holland dealership. My service manual has about 5 pages of instructions on rebuilding the injector for the LX985. not so much on the 865, but probably similar process with different numbers in the specs chart. or maybe not..
( the pop off pressure on the 985 is mentioned at 4200 psi. you need a pop tester to do this. )
the guys rebuilding our engines with similar injectors sealed the bore around the injector with rtv sealant to keep the bore dry. probably more than one cylinder head was returned as a core because they could not get the injector out. ( without damaging the cyl head casting)

Thanks for the info.
The bores were wet but not enough to bring a leak to the surface..... I don't think.
The bottom copper washers were pitted....

Interesting about the RTV.... not sure I'd go that route... but I've seen worse in some shops...

I really think my leak was coming from the return lines (leak off) I ordered new tygon line and crush washers....

Ordered injector seal kits too.... but I found an injection shop close by so I'm gonna stop by and have them check pop and etc.
New injectors are about $70 so thats not bad..... although there were 2 types... emmissionized and non
not sure if they interchange..... Mine have a screw cap on top for the return.... has a copper washer under it....
didn't know it but the hex key under it adjusts pop pressure..... anyway... let the shop deal with that.
