I just got a LS 170 and when it runs for about an hour or so and it seems to idle down and lose power. If I turn if off for a minute so and restart it runs good again for a few minutes and dos it again. I can repeat this again and again until I get tired of it and park it for the day.

Have you changed the inline fuel filter and the main fuel filter? Also check that the electric fuel pump is pumping an adequate amount of fuel when this happens. Do not depend on the sound coming from the electric fuel pump as an indication it is working. Also check your air filters.
It might also be a good idea to remove the fuel tank cap and blow air back through the fuel line that you removed when replacing the inline filter, to clear any obstruction in the pickup tube.

I have not changed any filters yet. The EIC doesn't show any warnings for fuel or air restrictions. How do I check and where do I check for the adequate amount of fuel pumping when it is happening

You can take any fuel hose off after the electric fuel pump and you should have a good stream of fuel flowing through the hose. Change the fuel filters first.

I will have to get some filters and give this a try. I live an hour away from the nearest dealer so this will take a few days. But thanks for the help I will let you know how it works out

I would get an extra inline filter because it is usually the problem.

I changed both in-line fuel and fuel filter with water trap. I couldn't change the air filter as the dealer didn't have one in stock. I did take it out and blue it out with compressed air it looks ok. I then ran it for a few hours the most I have run it sins I got it. It ran awesome had no problems at all. I would have run it longer but it is very cold here and a heated cab is not an option I have. Thank you very much for your help. P.S. If you have any ideas on a cheap way to get so heat in the cab I would appreciate it.

Putting plexiglas on the sides to cover the side grills will help greatly.

If you have a wal-mart close they carry a heavy very clear vinyl in the fabric section. I have used it for a few years now, only costs a few bucks to cover the sides and tape the edges down. Dont know for sure the weight but it's close to 1/32 thick.

I think I have some pieces of Plexiglas I will try to cut them and fit them on the sides. Thanks
