2002 753g coolant

Is there supposed to be coolant visible in the radiator when cold when you remove the cap? I have coolant in the recovery tank at the minimum level but was wondering if I should be seeing coolant in the radiator when I open the cap when it's cold? This might sound dumb, but it doesn't say anything in the manual outside of checking recovery tank.

yes there should be coolant visable when cap is taken off. I have heard of engines being destroyed form overheating when overflow bottle was filled but radiator was empty.
