    Ethylene vs. Propylene Glycol coolant

I *know* Bobcat specifies Propylene Glycol-based antifreeze versus the old green Ethylene Glycol stuff. Tomorrow am. I'm changing the thermostat in my 751 (it's not coming up to temperature) and I was going to flush it and change the coolant in the process. I'm having a hard time rationalizing...

    Trailer...electric or surge brakes?

I've been shopping trailers the last several days....I'm looking for something to use specifically as a skid loader trailer, because I already have a nice light single axle trailer that works great for lumber and materials. I've always been a big fan of surge brakes because 'whatever you hook...

Home-made cab door. No laughing, ok?

This afternoon....the wind (finally) quit blowing.....so I went out and plowed and generally played around. Granted...it was sunny, so I got some 'solar effect' through the windows.....but it was +9F with a breeze, and even with only the electric heater I was WARM......warm enough I could shed...

    Input welcomed....Truck snowplow conversion.

I had the brilliant(???) idea of using a replacement cat II or cat III 'weld-on' three-point repair end. I've got one around here *somewhere*.... I'm done for a coupla' days, anyway.....ran outta' argon/CO2. Tried the 'straight' argon I keep for spoolgun and aluminum....UGLY welds. Can't have...

    Input welcomed....Truck snowplow conversion.

One of my Dad's old lines....”I felt sorry because I had no shoes....until I met a man with no feet”. It's +9F...with 30+gusts here.....so you, not me, truly know COLD. Us people in MI aren't as hard-core as we think we are. I was supposed to be at Sault Ste. Marie tuning a sled for todays...

Thanks, Ken! Like they say...”a picture is worth a thousand words”. I appreciate you taking time to post them and help me out. Jim (sitting in the warm shop watching the snow drift...)

    Input welcomed....Truck snowplow conversion.

I'm going tomorrow to pick up a 7'6" Western Pro-Plow that I bought cheap enough to chop up and mount on my 751. All I want to do with this is plow snow.....no 'summer bulldozer' duty for it. I know better. Questions.....and I know some of you (Ken in particular) have BTDT.... Do I mount this so...

Home-made cab door. No laughing, ok?

Actually......if you've got access to a wire-feed....making one is pretty easy.I'd be more than happy to take some more detailed pics and provide dimensions.....but I have no idea how "interchangable" they are.....this is on a '98 751F. I had all the stuff laying around from various racing...

Home-made cab door. No laughing, ok?

Hmmm. That's what shows......but you're right. If you stick it in the address bar.....it goes 'tilt'. In any event....it's the the Media/Photos section, page two "Homebrewed door". If I had half'a brain I could just imbed pics in the post.... Jim

Home-made cab door. No laughing, ok?

Here's what happens when I get bored and cold. Scrounged around the shop.....found some 5/16 rod ends (made nice adjustable hinges...), some 1" square thin-wall mild steel tubing......and a big hunk of MR-10 Lexan left over from a dragster windshield. The highly engineered (heh) latch is an...

    '98 751F Alternator capacity?

I bought a bunch of MR-10 Lexan, fired up the welder, and scrounged some aluminum and mild steel....and now have a nice. cozy enclosed ROPS on my 751. From selling out an auto parts store I had in a prior life, I've go a (New in the Olde Box) 12v electric heater....supposedly 500 watt....says...

    751 hydraulic question

Ken.....are these the two holes I've exposed by removing the flat cover at the front of the tapered section? Or...is there something else under there that I'm not seeing? Thanks! Jim

    751 hydraulic question

Must be the pump is 'tight' enough that it doesn't allow fluid to gravity through. I went and bought about 10 o-rings to assure I'd have the right size and allow quick re-assembly....and was pleasantly surprised. I'll bet it didn't leak over a few ounces. Got lucky... It appears that this has...
