Ethylene vs. Propylene Glycol coolant

I *know* Bobcat specifies Propylene Glycol-based antifreeze versus the old green Ethylene Glycol stuff. Tomorrow am. I'm changing the thermostat in my 751 (it's not coming up to temperature) and I was going to flush it and change the coolant in the process. I'm having a hard time rationalizing just *why* I need to drive 30 miles to get the fancy stuff.....when I've got four cases of regular old permanent in the shop. Does someone know something that I don't? I know the newfangled coolant is supposedly longer-lasting.....but if you're a maintainence Nazi like I am....what's the difference?

You dont have to, the propylene glycol is basically Save mother earth stuff, if you drink it it will take 2x as much as the Ethyene stuff to kill you... clean out your system very well and put green in it. Just dont mix them. They dont play well together.
