    Bobcat 530 hydraulic leak

Thanks skidsteer. I'm trying to find the reuseable ends locally, but living in a rural community makes it a little more difficult. I have been using the 530 to assist in building a workshop. After I finish the workshop I will replace the hose. Just needed a quick fix in the meantime. I have...

    Bobcat 530 hydraulic leak

I have a small pinhole leak in the hose that runs from the oil cooler to a “T” fitting on the restrictor valve. It leaks about 1 to 2 quarts an hour during use. The line is a charge pressure line. The leak is in a clear section of hose about 18 inches long. Easy to get to. The problem is on...

    Bobcat model numbers

Thanks OldMachinist, that pretty well clears it up for me. I was wondering where my 530 fell into the mix. It is about the right size for use on my 10 acres. Seems I find new uses for it all the time. I've found it to be a lazy man's friend.

    Bobcat model numbers

Is there rhyme or reason to Bobcats model designations? Does the 1st, 2nd and 3rd digits mean anything specific? Thanks,

What is a "long link socket"?

Jerry it worked great.. I took an old railroad trestle spike, cut the screw threads off of it, drilled the hole and put the cross bar in it. It already had a 15/16 bolt head on it. I now have a new tool in my box. thanks

What is a "long link socket"?

Thanks Tazza for the reply. I think Jerry covered it below.

What is a "long link socket"?

Thanks Jerry, I read your post and it makes sense to me. Basically what I need is a hollow 3/4 inch rod with a cross bar about an inch up. The rod slips over the screw and the cross bar mates up with the slot in the screw to tighten or loosen the screw. Thank for the info..

What is a "long link socket"?

My manual tells me I need a “long link socket” to tighten or remove a screw holding the port block to the vane pump. I have two bottoms and two tops and a side box full of tools, but I don't think I know what a “long link socket” is. Would it be a “U” shaped socket with long sides? I felt...

Need info to help combat hydraulic leak on BC530

Thanks again Tazza, that's twice now that you have answered my questions..itg's handy as having a mechanic living next door.. I didn't think it seemed right being loose, but if I don't know it's better to ask. I've made more than one part useless by thinking I knew what I was doing. Thanks,

Need info to help combat hydraulic leak on BC530

More reading..it is the port block that is loose. I think! The manual shows to remove the hex nut and there will be a long screw inside..you remove it to disassemble, but it does not mention how tight it should be on reassembly..so I am about where I was excpt I know the names of the...

Need info to help combat hydraulic leak on BC530

After looking at some pics on the internet this is the valve that sits on top of the vane pump, however I still do not know if it should be loose or not. Doesn't seem to me like it should be loose. My repair manual does not say anything about it. I ordered a parts manual to give me an idea...

Need info to help combat hydraulic leak on BC530

I have a 1979 BC530 and many leaks. Loses about 1 1/2 gallons using it around the house about 7 or 8 hours. I repaired one of the lift arms and cured that leak. Under the seat there is what I think is a control thing (pardon the hitech description). The problem or at least what I think is the...

Bobcat 530 left lift cylinder hydraulic lines..which hose goes where??

Well, I got the cylinder apart, bought new parts, cleaned everything up, put it together, hooked up the hoses and got it right the first time. I was really feeling proud of myself, no leaks the arms went up and down just like they are supposed to work. Put it in the garage, walked into the...

Bobcat 530 left lift cylinder hydraulic lines..which hose goes where??

Thanks Tazza..I've got 50% chance to get it right..Maybe I'll let my wife do it, she's pretty lucky.. To be a little more serious, I didn't know if it would mess anything up or not if I tried it and it was wrong. Thanks again, ryork
