The book says 600, we have a big torque wrench in the shop. And when I get into one of these at the house I borrow the one from the shop.

Take those big nut looking things off on each side. There is a smaller nut underneath each one. The front one adjusts the forward clutch and the rear one adjusts the reverse clutch. A little bit goes a long way here. If the clutches don't respond to this adjustment they may need replacement...

When we put hubs back on we torque the bolt (600 for singles 200 for triples), then smack then bolt head with a hammer, and retorque. Repeat this until the bolt doesn't turn at full torque. I've seen a couple come off but never one that I put on.

Those covers are not the same, the part number for the 773t 6688640 and the 743 is 6674164.

Check for slop in all of the linkages on the governor. It also kind of sounds like the weights are hanging up inside the governor. Your 642B should have a Hoof governor on it, the spring and linkages on the outside are all still available but the weights on the inside are not.

The serial number will etched into various places on the main frame. I don't know exactly where, I think to the left of the engine inside the compartment. Your dealer can check the stolen list for you and order a new serial plate for free.

There was an announcement on Bobcatnet today that the T250, T300, and T320 will be offered with an optional steel track undercarriage. No word on prices yet. Some of the guys that went to San Antonio last summer got to see one. Apparently it's pretty cool.
