853 starves for fuel and collapses priming bulb

I had exactly the same problem. It turned out that my metal elbow coming out of the fuel tank was plugged. I lifted the canopy, got into the area around the tank plug and pulled it out of the tank. It was nearly totally plugged, just enough to suck fuel in to get it started, but not running...

    door gasket

I need a door gasket for my 753 door. Old one cracked and had to be taken out. Is there some generic material or do I have to use the Bobcat material exclusively? I lost my job, hence I"m asking about the cost of the gasket material. Thanks all,

    New Baby

Yeah, I bet she came wrapped in a blue blanket.

    lift cylinder question

Dadgum, I think you hit the nail on the head. Just a little overeager, pushed too hard. Been running fine, just plain forgot about the float variable.

    lift cylinder question

I was working my 753 one day and noted I could not raise the bucket. I kinda jiggled the pedal some and it went up OK. I drove along, raising and lowering the bucket with the left pedal and it was fine. Was this some minor linkage wear problem, like some slop in the pedal mechanism, or a...

    Groaning 753

When I push the levers forward, especially at low rpm's, I get a heavy groaning sound. The unit was just adjusted by a mechanic, a good mechanic, who said he followed the book. Why would it groan so much? All things being equal, it seems to me the valve at the pump or motor is not open enough...

    flat rubber priming bulb

Yes, the metal elbow just above the tank was nearly totally plugged. I took a wire and cleaned it, then blew high pressure air through it and a plug of gunk came out. It's been running great since. Make sure your input tube in the tank is not resting in gunk at the bottom of the tank.

    flat rubber priming bulb

Nope, wasn't the problem. I thought I had a deficient cap with occluded vent hole, but no way. I had recurring problems and found that the metal elbow was nearly totally blocked with crud. I removed it by wire and high pressure air, and, DADGUM, she works great now! Goes to show ya that you have...

    flat rubber priming bulb

Aye, I loosened the fuel tank cap and voila!, no more flattened rubber bulb and no more engine hiccuping and stopping...now, the fuel primer bulb no longer flattens and the 753 runs like Jack the Bear...thanks for the suggestions, Mike

    flat rubber priming bulb

I've been having some fuel delivery problems lately. Replaced the filter in the tank and tubing. My rubber priming bulb ends up flat after running at 60% rpm's for about 20 minutes. The engine slows down and will stop. Wait until the rubber bulb gets round again and it will again work....until...

    fuel intake line

How important is the fuel filter and foot valve on the fuel intake tube? Can you get by without the assembly? Obviously, the filter is a good idea, but how about the foot valve? thanks

    753 fuel question

I just bought a 753 and have put on maybe 6 hours. I wanted to fill the fuel tank to the top, and did. A couple hours of work later and the engine got balky, as if it were running out of fuel. I filled it with around 4 gallons and it ran well again. I rather doubt I have a 4 gallon tank, but is...

    Found! Generic Bobcat Orange Paint

Yup, Autumn Crush paint from Valspar is excellent as a Bobcat match. I sprayed my engine compartment door and it looks great. Will do the wheels next. I'm very satisfied with this paint, I got it from Lowe's and the price is right. Anybody have a substitution for Bobcat charcoal paint?

    Seafoam......

Considered the best additive for 2 cycle engines. Used by lots of engine afficionados, I'd not mystify it and give it a bad name. I have first hand experience with it and I consider it worthwhile. While some people are down on all additives, I'm not. I've run it in my 753 all winter and despite...

    Optimum snow plow width

I've got an 800' long dirt driveway. Been plowing it with some heavy iron over the years, a CAT D6, followed later on by selling the 6 and buying a nice D2. Still, it's overkill and when the ground is not frozen, I make a big mess of the driveway. I bought a 753 Bobcat and want to make up a snow...
