Hi, I have a 2000 new holland LS180 with 3500 hours on it. The machine runs great but the seat belt light is very finicky. You have to put the belt in a bunch of times to get it to turn off, and today i could not get it to go away so i cannot use the machine. I tried taking apart the push connectors and putting a wire between the two but it did not work. I traced the wires under the seat and cleaned the plug but still nothing. Any help is greatly depreciated as I cannot finish the job. Thank you -Ryan

Lets start at the beginning. Machine needs to be in "Run" mode. Sit in the seat. Does the dash light up? If it does the seat switch is working properly. Now, put the seatbelt on. Does the seatbelt light turn off? If not, while still in the seat, try jumping the wire like you did before. Now see if it will start. You can not jumper the seatbelt with out being in the seat. There is a sequence that the computer looks for, or it wont start. Also, if you jumper the seat belt, then get out of the seat the machine will lock out the boom because it knows you are not in the seat. My guess would be you have a bad seatbelt, but you weren't in the seat when you jumpered it, so it wouldn't work.

Thanks for the response, I ended up jumping the seat belt wire and the seat switch wire. Now the machine thinks there is always weight on the seat so the seat belt wire can stay jumped.

I think you have created a continuous current draw with the jumpers that will draw the battery down in time and also a safety issue since the hydraulic lift and tilt solenoids will not lock out the valves when you leave the seat. A new seat belt isnt cheap but is a better alternative , just my 2 cents tho.
