Hi , guys I recently was looking for a new engine for my skid steer ,
low and behold , they are very pricey .
so I started to research , and found some . DEALERS WANT 7500.00 BEFORE INSTALL
I FOUND SOME FOR A HOLE LOT LESS.
these are the N844 & N844T -SHIBAURA (FORD) NEW HOLLAND 4 CYLINDER UNITS.
ONLY A FEW LEFT SO GET A HOLD OF ME .

Oh I forgot to say these are NEW ENGINES not rebuilt .
and the dealer I talk to , his price was for rebuilt...not that they are bad , but

i ordered my new engine today feb 10/09 for $ 4550.00us and $280.00us shipping from NewHolland ,PA.U.S.A. to Miramichi N.B.Canada .
i'll take some picks and tell you what i have done and will go through get it back up and going again .
turbo is a bit more than what i paid , but apple with apples . i wanted to make it as straight forward as posible .
i wanted to preserve to block so hand and chain blocked the machine onto my trailer by my self . ( a big winch on a trailer good idea ) don't try that if you have a bad heart .
she's ready for the garage , as soon as the engine arrives . and the engine is still in one piece
i mite have to try to move her under her own power at the garage to get her in thats why i did it the hard way. may want to rebuild the engine later as well , no recore required . and no re shipping the old one back.

$1200 for the labor seams a little high since you are pulling the engine, but its probably worth it if he will stand behind the engine for 3 years. Those engines are a little fussy and can blow up pretty easy. I can sell you a set of new piston rings for $160, new from CNH they are over $300. Hopefully your bottom end is ok, or you will really get into some high $$. I imagine you will have 2-3k in the engine. I also have lots of other used parts if you need anything. It might have been cheaper for you to just sell your machine and buy another one.

80ja, did you check out Ken's link in the other post for the rebuilders in North Dakota? They do list that engine and buy cores. Having rebuilt several gas engines, a complete job is a lot of labor and tools if you are doing a good job. Whatever, if you hire the rebuild done make sure you get a written warranty. Seen to many mistakes and overlooked things in rebuilt engines.

I know this is 15 years later... do you know where I can get a Shibaura N844 engine for my New Holland LX565 Skid Steer? Mine is without turbo.

My engine block has a hole in it so I need atleast an engine block to start my process.
