My Bobcat S150 has the Kubota V2203 engine. It has had some pretty major issues and it's time for a new engine. A new head, oil pump, and so much more. It has a coolant leak around the chain case, and now the compression is way down so I'm guessing I broke a ring - or more. I'm having a hard time finding a good used V2203 that doesn't have high hours out of a reefer unit. I have access to a V2403 but there seems to be little information about the differences other than the V2403 has more hp's. A guy told me it should fit in the S150 but I'm fairly skeptical. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to repower an S150? I'm afraid my block will be toast and would rather not pay $2000 for a "running core" that will likely need a lot of work to convert to a skid loader application or need rebuilt because of high hours (over 15,000 hours or unknown hours).

I really need to get this thing back up and running again, but apparently everyone who has a listing for a V2203 doesn't actually have one...

The V2403 has a Turbo and properly will be way overpowered for that little S150. By that age you will probably blow a lot of hydraulic hoses and what not. It is hard to tell if it is worth it when I don't know the rest of the machines condition. 15000 hours + sounds a lot. Most likely it is not the first engine anyway.

With that Turbo the V2403 will also not fit into the machine without cutting the frame.
