unknown ignition problem

2040 won't won't start. starter clicks. new battery. sometimes it will run and go like new then after I shut it off it won't start again. what is this reset thing and where are the sensors I can disconnect please thanks

Are u positive the starter clicks, & not the start relay u are hearing. Try jumping the solenoid on the starter see if it cranks good, if it does not then u either have a starter fault or bad cable connections. if it cranks good then its possibly the relay ,start fuse, neutral switches, ignition switch or wiring faults. start relay is at the circuit breaker in the engine compartment. check the crank fuse for corrosion. neutral switches are on the hydro pump control arms
If all things check out ok & the starter is still clicking the starter needs rebuilt,
